Portugália Restauração Group is amongst the largest Portuguese groups in the catering industry and has a longstanding presence in the country. It has more than 90 years of history in Portugal, and has amassed 6 separate brands with 800 members of staff. This organisation is one of national importance in the catering sector. Its origin started with the opening of a beer house in the building owned by Fábrica de Cerveja Portugália (Portugália Brewery). For approximately 70 years, this was the only restaurant of the group. However, since the Nineties, new restaurants have been opened, new brands have been created and new concepts have been developed.

Portugália was established in Lisbon in 1925 on the corner of the street of the brewery bearing the same name. It is a brand that inspires trust and has a long association with quality and tradition. Its tasty beefsteaks and their secret sauce, that carry a long history, have been famous for decades. But Portugália offers more than beefsteaks. The quality of its seafood and carefully selected dishes chosen from the classic Portuguese cuisine has won over national and foreign customers.
Portugália Balcão has a presence in the main shopping centres. It is known for its fast and efficient service, offering a selection of dishes that have made it renowned for nearly a century. In addition to delicious Beefsteaks with Portugália Sauce, hot croquettes, pulled pork sandwiches (bifanas) and steak sandwiches (pregos) served at the table on a clay frying pan, with sauce and fries. Portugália Balcão also serves the traditional Shrimp Bread Soup (Açorda de Camarão), Flan Pudding and the best chilled Imperial beers ever.
